Juvenile SABINE'S GULL in Staffordshire - September 2011

During a period of strong south-westerly winds in early September, many seabirds were forced in to the upper reaches of the Severn
Estuary in Gloucestershire and expectations were high that some of these may venture inland. On the morning of the 7th, this juvenile
Sabine's Gull was discovered at Belvide Reservoir in Staffordshire and remained until 15th although it did also visit nearby Gailey
Reservoirs during this period. It represented only the second record for Belvide Reservoir with the first occurring on October 1st 1982.
